Bjorn Thorsen was a ski racer turned freestyler who loved training in freeride.
We were fortunate to have Bjorn as a member of our team if only for a short time. He passed away in January 2007 while sleeping. To help keep his freestyle dream alive, we started a scholarship in his name that is presented annually to an Axis Freeride athlete with the following qualities that also represented Bjorn:
ENTHUSIASM
LOVE OF THE SPORT
HUNGER TO GROW AND IMPROVE
A CARING ATTITUDE TOWARD OTHERS
2007 Recipient Chloe Lee
2008 Recipient Justin Schmaelzle
2009 Recipient Jack Graham
If you would like to support the Bjorn Thorsen Memorial Scholarship, you can contribute a tax deductible donation in any amount. Please contact us at info@axisfreeride.com to do so.
